Our dog Daisy had a puppy about two weeks ago. He is so cute and I don't know how we are going to get rid of him. We can't keep him though so if anyone is interested let me know.

We made it back Halloween day just in time to take the kids Trick or Treating. We had two football players and a zombie to take along. We had a very fun time.

Hawaii

Chris and I went to Hawaii before Halloween. It was a very needed vacation. With all of the stresses of life we needed a break. We sat on the beach and did nothing. A huge thank you to Chris's Dad and Sister for helping with the Children. I can't wait to go back some day!

Ry had his school field trip to a pumpkin patch. He was scared at first (surprise surprise) but he warmed up to it all and ended up having fun. He looks so much like Wes at this age.

OK so I am a little behind. Here are the first day of school pictures. Wes is in 4th, Car is in 1st and Ry started Joy school. They are all doing well in school and I LOVE there teachers this year.

Car is doing well. He has not had any new symptoms. He is doing well in school and we are very proud of him. Wes is doing awesome. His teacher this year is a heaven sent. She is what he has totally needed. Ry is getting big and having fun with his brothers.

Super Hero Capes and real life Super Heroes

The past few weeks have been an eye opener for me. I have realized how lucky I really am and how much I am thankful for. My last post was a Debbie Downer I know but sometimes you need to get things off your chest.

I made Car and Ry both capes out of t-shirts. They loved them and the capes were super easy to make. I made both of them in about an hour. They ran around the back yard and had a blast playing with the capes.

Our friends who have a daughter with Leukodestrophy have been through a lot in the past two weeks. Elizas father was in a terribly biking accident and has a long road ahead of him to recover. I have been in awe of their handling of this new trail in their life. I have never meet anyone so full of faith and grace. I am grateful for their example through all of this. The month of May

Last month was a hard one. I don't think I have cried that much in a long time. I finally had my emotional release that I have been holding back sense Carters accident and diagnoses of Leukodestrophy. After Carter broke his collar bone he screamed for a week straight. He would cry even if you touched him. I held strong for about five days until I could not hold it in anymore. I realized that I was full of all different emotions. I was scared, mad, bitter, angry, upset and down right just pissed off. As I lifted Carter out of bed, the bath tub, the chair he was sitting in I realized that this could very well be my life in a few years. How in the world am I going to be able to do this? How am I going to watch my child slowly change in front of me. I was mad at everyone, even the people who where trying to be nice to me. It took me a good day of shutting my self in my room and doing nothing to get it out of my system for now.

How do I move on from this? How do I go day after day with the knowlege that my child has a horrible disses and that my other children could have it also? The only answer I could come up with is that we all came to earth because we wanted to. We came here to have the experience of having a body. We chose to come and have trials so we could grow and learn. It is what we do with these trials that help shape us. It can either make us stronger or weaker. So I chose and choose to make me stronger. Does it suck? Yes it does!

I know that I will have the opportunity to learn more from Car. But for right now I take it one day at a time.

Carter and his collar bone

Poor Carter broke his collar bone on our slide. I feel so bad for him he can't seem to catch a break. Just this last week he relearned how to ride his bike without his training wheels. He has been in a lot of pain and has been so uncomfortable. I hope he has a fast recovery.

Birthday and Belts

Wes had his 9th birthday party. I took 7 boys to the movies to see Rio. The boys loved it. We came back to our house and had Pizza and Cake. We are so lucky to have so many kids in our neighborhood for our kids to play with.

Wes and Car have been enjoying Karate very much. They earned there first strip on there belts two weeks ago. Car was epically excited. We are so lucky that we have found something for him to do and enjoy. It has been so good for his balance and stretching.

Spring

Car wanted a new ssuit so bad. He begged and begged me to get him one. I finally broke down and bought him a suite. He wanted to look like his Dad. He was so excited to go to church and show everyone.

We had a weird week of weather about 3 weeks ago. The kids took advantage of the warm weather and played on the play set all day. Here is Car swinging away.

I found Ry playing with Micky Mouse. He cracks me up so much. This was his outfit of choice. A kids Home Depot apron and a Straw hat.

Update

I have been really bad with updating our blog so here is a what we have all been up to.

Weston is doing well in school. He is really enjoying karate and cub soutss. He started an art class and his having fun learning new techniques. He has been such a wonderful older brother. He has really stepped up to the plate with being such a big help to me.

Carter is still spunky as ever. He is finally enjoying school and Church. I am very happy with his progress and his ability to work around his disability. He keeps my hands full.

Ryder has hit the terrible twos. He makes us laugh so much. He keeps things light and fun in our house. We are so lucky to have his little spirit in our home.

Chris has been very busy with finishing the basement. His busy season is getting ready to start. We are lucky that he does not need to go away for a long time this summer.

I have been trying to get to our new normal. We have got a new routine down finally. This will never be the same like it was before Carters accident but we are very blessed to have every day we have.

Reflections

Weston loves to draw and create. He was able to enter in two Reflections entries. He took first place for his photo entry. He went onto the next round of competition but came up empty handed. It was such a good expericane for him. He is so excited for next year. Good Job Weston!

Cast Buddies

Carter and Ryder both had casts on at the same time.

Ryder went down our slide on the Make-a-Wish play set and broke his foot. He had his cast on for about 5 weeks. Carter on the other hand had his cast on to help his walking. He was lucky and only had them on for two weeks. He was such a good boy about it.

Wishing

Carter had the amazing opportunity to be apart of Make-a-Wish. He was able to wish for a play set for our backyard. It was a cool experience for our whole family. He had his star raising ceremony at the Make-a-wish house. He received a glass star and is able to write wishes on it. Than they are able to raise the star to the ceiling. Mike and Kathy where Carters wish sponsors. They are amazing people. I wish that every kid could have this opportunity.

Leuko What?

Our life took a different turn on September 12th, 2010.

Carter was riding his bike when his brother Weston made him crash. Neither Chris or I where by Carter when this happened. Our neighbor and good friends carried him back to our house.

Upon our arrival we knew that something was not right. He said he could not walk. We noticed that his left leg was not moving as it should. Chris gave Carter a blessing and we waited for a little bit to see if we could get him to calm down.

Latter on that night we decided it was time to take him to the Hospital and make sure something was not wrong. When we got to the hospital the Dr did a physical exam and realized that there was nothing physical wrong with his leg. He than decided to order a CT of his head. When he came back to our room I could tell by the look on his face something was wrong. He said that everything looked ok from the bike accident, but that something was very wrong with his brain. He did not know what Carter had but that the white matter of his brain was not normal. To the point that he thought he brought up the wrong CT at first. He released us from the hospital and told us to follow up with a Neurologist at Primary Childrens Hospital.

The next day I was on the phone at 8 am sharp trying to make an appointment as soon as possible. Needless to say we ended up taking Carter into the ER at 1:00 that afternoon because we felt like the matter was very urgent and we need answers soon.

When we arrived to the Primary childrens ER the whole Neurology team was aware of Carter and his CT he had the night before. Having 5 Doctors show up at one time was very scary. For me that is when I knew that this was so serious. We kept on hearing the word Leukodestrophy. Neither Chris or I have ever heard of this desieas before. They started an IV on Carter and admitted Carter to the Neurology until.

The next day Carter had a Spinal tap and a MRI. With the results from these two test we knew for sure that he had Leukodestrophy. While we where waiting for the results both Chris and I came to the conclusion that whatever the outcome was that it was in the Lords Hands. We had faith that we could handle whatever was ahead.

At this point our sweet Carter was still not walking. He was very upset and wanted to go home. After two days in the Hospital we where released not knowing what the future was really going to hold for Carter. We had to wait for about 3 weeks for blood test results. We where lucky and four days after we came home Carter started walking. He could only take a few steps at a time.

Our wonderful friend, Neighbor, Angle, and Carters primary teacher helped Carter get better. I really don't know what I would of done without her. She has been a huge blessing in Carters life and mine.

It has been a slow process to get Carter to where he is now. He walks a little funny. He is going through Physical Therapy to help him.

We got the results from the blood work and found out that he has Vanishing White Matter Leukodestrophy. We are blessed to know that he has one of the slow progressing forms of Leukodestrophy. We don't know what the future holds for Carter and we don't know how long we will have him on this earth, but we know that we are blessed to be his Parents.

We have felt the Lords hand in so many things over the past two months. We have felt his tender mercies. We have truly gotten to know what Charity is. We have been on the receiving end of service and are amazed by the people who have given to us.

Fishing and Football

We had an awesome weekend up in Boise on November 4-7th. Our wonderful friends the Allens and Hartsons put a fun weekend together for our whole family.

On Friday we started off fishing. Jordan Allen (the fish whisper) took us fishing. We all caught a lot of fish that where 20-24 inches. The boys loved every minute of it. I hope that they have a lot of memories of this day. It was something very special.

That night the moms went out for pedicures and dinner. They also took me to two different stores that had donated Boise State University gear to Carter. I was so unbelievably took off guard. I could not understand why people who did not know me or my family could be so giving. Both Chris and I felt so loved.

The next day the boys all went to the Boise State Game. Jordan and Randy where able to get amazing VIP tickets for the game. This was for Carter. They had a blast. Carter received a football signed by the Couch. They loved watching the game.

We are go grateful for friends who love us so much. We have been so overwhelmed by the care and love we have received from everyone.

The past 2 months.

I have been bad with keeping up on our blog. I have been a little busy. As most of you know Carter has been diagnosed with Leukodestrophy. We are trying to get back to normal with life. He is doing well and we are very optimistic.

I want to keep up on our life and what are family is doing.

Weston started 3rd grade. He is loving school and loves to read. He is in scouts now and is very excited about that. He entered the Reflections contest and won first prize for a photo he took of papa and carter fishing. He loves to laugh and have a good time. Right now he wants to be in the military when he gets older. He is a good boy.

Carter is doing well. He is 5 and he started Kindergarten again. He has had a hard time letting me leave the class room. He still has his fun and happy personality. He is very much a fighter.

Ryder is two and loves to copy Carter. He talks very well and loves music. He makes us all laugh.

Chris and I are doing well. We both have been really busy.

Summer Part One Washigton and Oregon

I have not updated our blog in a very long time. We have been really busy traveling and visiting family. The boys and I drove up to WA to visit Chris family and my Bother Travis and his family. We celebrated Cars 5th Birthday with Aunt Anne, Papa and Nana Martin. We went to the Zoo and where able to stop by and visit Grandma Edgar.

Next we drove onto Oregon to visit Travis and his family. We where able to be there for T's Baptism and Papa Listons Birthday. We went to some amazing waterfalls and had so much fun with Travis and his family.

I was able to visit my Best Friend from High School. It was so good to see her and her cute family.

I think the month of May has been one of our busiest months we have had in a long time. Weston won a bike at school. Every year they give away 4 bikes as an incentive for reading. Weston was so excited to win one of the bikes.

My Sweet grandma Rudd passed away on May 8th. All of my siblings and parents came into town for her funeral. It was so good to see everyone. The above picture is with my Grandma Liston (my dads mom) and my step-grandpa Max. This was after the beautiful service.

For our wedding Anniversary Chris got us tickets for Sugarland and Julianne Hough. We had so much fun. It was one of the best shows we have seen in a long time. We have been married for 10 wonderful years!

Also for our anniversary Chris picked me up on this Bike. Our awesome neighbors let us use this for the night. We went out to dinner and Chris bought me some cute red high heel shoes.

Weston was baptized on May 1st. Here is Weston and his brothers. They make me laugh so much.

For some reason we have all been so sick with winter. I can't count the colds, runny noses, ear infections, croup, and I can't for get the swine flu we got. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong and why all of us have been so sick. Weston and Chris have been the healthy ones. I want winter to be over and spring to be here.

Chris really wanted to go to the Brad Paisley show about two weeks ago. He deiced to take Weston with him. It was Weston's first concert and he LOVED it. He told Chris that he wanted to be a sound guy like him. Lets just hope that he changes his mind.

We have been up to a lot over the past few months. Ry has began to walk. He is your typical one year old into everything. He makes us all laugh.

Wes started 2nd grade this year. He is having fun with 3 other kids from his primary Class in his school class. He is busy riding his bike and playing with everyone.

Car thinks that he is a big boy now because he started Preschool. He enjoys it very much. I enjoy only having one kid with me for a few hours a week.

Chris wanted to build a Fire Pit in our Backyard and got a wonderful Idea from Trav my brother. This is us breaking in our new fire pit by having Smores with our neighbors. The kids had a blast.

We have had a few fun weeks. Here are a few pictures of the kids.

We have been trying to teach the boys about working hard. About a week ago Chris and the boys dug out a lot of bad dirt. Wes and Car worked for over two hours helping Chris. They worked so hard and did not stop or complain.

We where watching American Idol when KISS was performing. I asked Car what he thought of them. In my mind I was hoping that he was not going to be scared. He was quite for a little bit and than said "there awesome". This kid loves music.

The years fly by way to fast. Here is what we have been up to over the past few weeks.

Carter being a knight with a burger king hat, Pirate sword and a pink pillow. Some of the things that Carter says right now is. "Mom you are the best mom in the whole world." It sounds cuter because he can't say his L's. He also says I am the best Cooker and Cleaner. He told Chris the other day that he was the best Fixer Guy in the Whole World.

Christmas

We had a really fun Christmas this year. Weston and Carter received new bikes from Santa. They where both very excited about the bikes. Aunt Anne spoiled all of us with wonderful gifts. I believe everyone should have an Aunt Anne. She is the most wonderful and giving person.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas season this year. We are grateful for this time of year and the joys that it bring to all of us.

Chris and I went to the Carrie Underwood concert last night. The show sounded awesome and she was a wonderful performer. Thanks babe for the fun date.

We went to the Mall last night as a family. As we where walking around sure enough there was Santa set up to take pictures. Both Chris and I looked at each other and said "its not even thanksgiving" The kids thought it was so cool that Santa was there.

I am proud to say that I am a Conservative. I pray and hope that Obama is a good President because we as Americans deserve a President who will do a good job. Only time will tell. So far his first choice does not impress me at all. Change, that is all that we heard. Lets see what other "changes" we see. Keep praying everyone tough times ahead in more ways than one.

So Ryder has not been himself for about the last two days. I knew that there was some thing wrong so I took him into the Doctor. Sure enough he has an ear infection. He is on penicillin for it and we have to wait and see if he has an allergic reaction to it like his brothers did. He is only 9 weeks and I feel so bad for him. We went through this whole ear infection thing with Carter. I see tubes in our future for Ryder.

Weston lost his first tooth yesterday. He came running into the house and told me "I have waited my whole life for this moment" He cracks me up.

Boy Update

Weston had school pictures last week and I was asking him how he was going to smile. I wanted to make sure that he did not do a silly smile. Below is how he said he was going to smile. I started laughing so hard when he did this. I have no clue where he got this from.

This is Carter in his Superman PJs. He has not taken them off for three days. I have to figure out how to get them from him so I can wash them.

Glenn Beck

So most of you know that I am a HUGE Glenn Beck fan. I listen to him every day. Well my lovely husband had the opportunity to do sound for a taping that will air in November. It was up at the Huntsman Cancer Center. I will admit at times I am jealous of all of the fun and exciting things Chris gets to do with his job. Well tonight was one event I wish that I could of gone to. Chris was able to put the mic on Glenn and talk with him. He also ran the sound for the taping. I got to stay home and take care of our boys.

I have been really lucky because Ryder LOVES his swing. It has really helped me out a lot when he gets fussy. None of my other boys liked the swing that much. Ryder also takes a Binky. He is almost 7 weeks now. I got a smile on Sunday for the first time.

Carter has learned how to ride his razor . He does really well with it. He likes to race dad on the other razor. He cracks me up right now. He has been carrying around a Book of Mormon around for the past two days and he calls it his SCRIPTIONS. He says really funny things right now.

Weston had a bike accident this weekend. He came home with a bad bleeding nose and his lips scraped up. He basically has road rash on his lips. His lips are swollen. Thank goodness he had his helmet on and nothing was broken. He was trying to go off a home made jump at his friends house.

Deer Hunt and Cousins

All of the men came back from the deer hunt on Thursday night. Everyone had a blast especially the little boys. Carter was a hand full for Chris but I am so proud of Chris for taking him on the Hunt.

Life has been crazy this past week. I have been trying to recover and let me tell you c-section number 2 has kicked my butt. Ryder is a wonderful baby. He sleeps good and barley cries. The boys have enjoyed him so much. Carter has become my little helper. He gets diapers for me, Ryder's Binky's, and anything I ask him to get. Weston has helped in many ways also. He has really grown up this summer. I would not have been able to do any of this without my mom. She has been Heaven sent. Even though Carter has given her a run for her money. She has been wonderful. Chris had to go out of town this weekend to do a show with the Choir. So having Mimi here is awesome.

Today the 30th Day of July 2008 at 7:25pm we welcomed the third addition to our family. Ryder Christopher Martin was born healthy weighing in at 6lbs. 15oz. 20 inches long. He took a little bit to get breathing fully on his own. I think he was still trying to make the complete transition from his pre-existant state. He breast fed for 11 minutes at 9:20pm and His mommy just informed me that he is ready for more. For those of you that are very familiar with our other two boys, he looks exactly like they did when they were first born. ( Especially like Carter). Of course dad is very proud to have another boy. All ten fingers and toes and "the package" are there and intact. We are greatful to our Heavenly Father for sending us a Beautiful baby boy!

Big as a House!!

I have officially made it past 37 weeks and can stop taking my medication to stop my contractions. Ryder will not be considered premature if he his born now. We are grateful that I have made it this far. My Doctor said that she would be surprised if I made it another week. We had to get past this weekend because of the Osmonds show at the Conference Center. Now that the show is over and things have calmed down at work, Ryder is welcome to come at any time. I am so ready to have this baby. I am BIG and uncomfortable!

One arm wonder !

As you can tell by this picture below Carter has learned very quickly how to do this is one arm. I have kept his bad arm tucked into his shirt this week so he was not temped to use it. Golf has become his new favorite sport. He figured out how to hold the golf club with one arm and hit the ball.

This is the brace that Carter has been wearing. It pulls his shoulders back into a more comfortable position. He has been a trooper through all of this.
I can't leave out Weston. He has been a big help to me over the last few weeks. He is a wonderful little boy.

Carters First Booboo

Yesterday we where working in the yard and Carter fell into one of our window wells. We ended up taking him to the instacare to see if he was ok. He was holding his neck and crying so we though that there could be something wrong. Well after a wait and a x-ray we found out that he broke his collarbone on his left side. Needless to say the x-ray says it all. See if you can tell the difference between the left and the right side.

Carters Birthday

We celebrated Carters Birthday over the weekend. He turned 3 years old on Saturday. He has been very excited about his Birthday. He are a few pictures of the weekend.

Carter was very specific about what kind of Cake he wanted. He wanted a Sports Cake.
He just makes us laugh.
He was not sure about the fireworks so I had to give him so ear plugs. One of them fell out and so he was using the empty box of "Pop Its " as a ear plug.
This was the first 4th of July since we got married that Chris did not work. Chris was very excited to do fireworks with the boys. The boys and him had a blast. He was a very good teacher to Weston and taught him how to light the fireworks. This made me nervous. But Weston was very responsible. My camera died so I did not get any other pictures of fireworks.

Camping and Booboos

The boys had a camp out in our backyard on Friday Night. Chris thought that it would be something fun for the boys to do. They had a blast. They roasted marshmallows, looked at the stars and Chris answered Carters questions about all of the noises he was hearing.

I think that it is impossible to have my children take a normal picture.
This was the highlight of the night. If you remember the Booboo fairy came a visited Carter a few months ago. Well lets just say it did not work out. Carter has had his booboos since than. Well I had to come up with another solution to get rid of the booboos. I am about 5 weeks away from my due date and I know that they needed to go. So we tied his booboos to balloons and sent them up to baby Ryder in Heaven. He has done well without it. Here is the video of him letting the booboo go.

Deer Hunter and Mortor Cross

Weston has been getting excited for the Deer hunt that is coming up at the end of August. My father (papa Liston) has been asking me if I have gotten Weston a bow yet. So this last week we went to Sportsmen Warehouse ...Weston's favorite store.. and got him a bow. He has spent the last three days shooting his bow. It took him a few mins to figure it out. But it did not take him long to start hitting the target.

This is Carter with a motorcycle helmet on. He wants to be like his dad so bad. This is actually Weston's helmet and Carter has to ware it when he goes on the mortor cycle with dad. He looks like a bobble head.

9 weeks to go!

I have reached 31 weeks in my pregnancy. I am feeling for the most part good. I have been really tired and have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. Today I had my check up and found out that I am already dilated to a 1. Now I normally would not worry but our Carter came at 36 weeks so this puts me at risk for having this one early. I just hope that I make it past the 24th of July. Chris has a huge show going on that week. Knowing my luck this is when little Ryder will deiced to come. So everyone keep your fingers crossed that Ryder will stay in my belly for at least 7 more weeks. Wish me luck!

So Proud of My Husband!

We have been very busy around our house over the past two weeks. Chris had the assignment for work to go down to Brazil and run the sound for the Temple Dedication and Day of Celebration Broadcasts and Events. He has been looking forward to this trip for about a year and a half now. One of his favorite companions from his mission in Washington D.C. is from the city ( Curtiba, Brazil) where the new Temple is located. He was able to hang out with his mission companion all week long. This ended up being a huge blessing. His compaion became the translator for everyone from Salt Lake. Chris's mission companion help with the huge language barrier and was able to interface with the local companies the Church had hired to provide equipment for the events.

This past weekend we had some of our favorite visitors. Mimi and Papa Liston came down to visit and they brought Cousin Mitchell with them. Weston was very excited to have Mitch come a play all weekend long with him. We had a fun time doing all sorts of things. We rode the New fount runner train into Salt Lake City and had dinner. The boys loved riding on the fast train. Papa helped Chris and Weston build a dog house for princess. Mitch helped also with this project. We where sad when Papa and Mitch had to go home. Mimi is staying a few extra days to help me and visit with her mom.

As for this week we have been busy. Weston is no longer in school. Now I have to come up with ways to keep him buys all summer. Chris left for Brazil for a week. He is doing the sound for the Temple Dedication of the New temple. I hate when he was to be away for so long. Little Carter is having a hard time with Chris being gone. He loves his dad very much. I had to have a 4 hour Glucose test done today. All of my numbers came back in the normal range. I am very happy about that. I have just about two months to go.

This is what Weston did for me on mothers day. Chris has to work on Sunday mornings and so Weston did this all by himself. I am so proud of him. He did not carry it upstairs because it was to heavy. My made me feel so special.

Crazy Times

Sorry I have not posted in a while. Things have been really busy for us and I just have not found time. Here are some of the things I have been up to.

~Helping Chris get over Bronchitis ( he leaves for Brazil next week)
~ Being a taxi for 7 kids ( 5 of which are not mine)
~Going to t-ball games
~Water our new grass every house
~growing a baby(I am 7 months now)
~trying to stay up on my house work
~being the nursery leader for our ward(we have 14 kids on our nursery)
~Babysitting 2 children three days a week( I have a hard time saying no to people)

The Yard

We have been really busy over the last two weeks. Chris has been awesome. We planted our grass almost two weeks ago. It is really coming in wonderful. Everyone in our neighborhood is amazed how well and fast it came in. We are just glad that our prayer where answered. We still have a few weeks to go before it is in fully.
We have also put our whole fence up last weekend. It looks awesome and I am proud of Chris for doing all the work himself. We planted the grass in the backyard on Monday night. We have about a week to go to see sprouts. Wish us luck.

Crazy Month of April

We have had a really buys month. First it was conference. This means that I have no husband for a whole week while Chris is getting ready for Conference. Then Weston had his birthday, birthday party and a visit from Papa Martin. This kid made out like a bandit for his birthday. Thanks you to everyone who wished him a happy birthday. In between all of these things we have planted five trees, laid 100 ft + of mow strip (thank you Emillie and Riley), and laid 4 yards of cement. Lets just say April has been crazy!
